Dr. Stephan Keller, Lord Mayor of Düsseldorf:
“Not least with the Finals 2023 Rhine-Ruhr or the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023, we have shown that the state capital is the perfect location for major sporting events. The enthusiasm was huge, we had support from all over the world. I am therefore happy to support a possible Olympic bid. The Games should be sustainable and their organization participatory. Dialogue with citizens is immensely important, and the DOSB Dialogue Forum in the Merkur Spiel-Arena was a good start.”
Jens-Peter Nettekoven, Vice President of the DOSB:
“We have made a start today, the goal is the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have to move Germany forward on this path.”
Dr. Christoph Niessen, Chairman of the State Sports Association of North Rhine-Westphalia:
“The organization of major sporting events is the responsibility of organized sport. That is why there is no question for us of supporting the DOSB’s initiative.”
